Five Blackman students have formed Main Street Commotion, a jazz quintet performing regularly at the JazzMatazz restaurant in Murfreesboro.
The group’s next show is this Monday from 6 to approximately 8 p.m. at the restaurant, 1824 Old Fort Parkway, next to IHOP in the Stones River Mall shopping complex.
The band consists of Blackman sophomores Zack Scaggs on keyboard, Brock Patterson on bass, and Micah Curtis on drums, and juniors Patrick Owen on trumpet and Joshua Blake on sax. The group performs jazz standard and improv numbers.
JazzMatazz specializes in classic Cajun-style dishes and also offers sandwiches, salads and desserts. There is no cover charge for Monday’s show.
