Come hear the guys at JazzMatazz this Monday night

Main Street Commotion will return to the JazzMatazz stage this Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

If this recent practice session is any indication, you can expect to hear some new stuff along with all your usual favorites.

JazzMatazz, in the former Slingshots Saloon building at 1824 Old Fort Parkway in the Stones River Mall shopping center, features a Cajun-inspired menu, a full bar, and a casual, family friendly atmosphere. Hope to see you there.

Update: Today’s performance at The Alley is a rain-out

Alas, The Alley has canceled this afternoon’s Main Street Commotion performance due to potential rain. Apparently, the only performance space is outside. The group is set to perform Monday evening at JazzMatazz, though. Watch for details.

Come hear Main Street Commotion debut at The Alley on Main from 2 to 5 p.m. this Saturday, during Murfreesboro’s Jazz Fest.

The guys will be playing all your favorites plus a few new numbers.

The Alley is on the corner of Main and Walnut streets, just one block west (that is, toward Broad Street) of the Rutherford County Courthouse.

The Alley specializes in steaks, but the menu also offers seafood, salads, sandwiches, and even a kids’ menu.

For details, see The Alley’s menu.

Next show: 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Jazzmatazz

The guys will be back on stage Monday, April 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jazzmatazz in Murfreesboro.

Jazzmatazz is a Cajun restaurant located in the old Santa Fe Steakhouse building in the Stones River Shopping Center, between the IHOP and the DoubleTree Hotel.

Pro tip: It’s not on the online menu, but ask for the hummus and pita bread appetizer. Yummy, and enough to share.

Upcoming show: 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20 at JazzMatazz

Five Blackman students have formed Main Street Commotion, a jazz quintet performing regularly at the JazzMatazz restaurant in Murfreesboro.

The group’s next show is this Monday from 6 to approximately 8 p.m. at the restaurant, 1824 Old Fort Parkway, next to IHOP in the Stones River Mall shopping complex.

The band consists of Blackman sophomores Zack Scaggs on keyboard, Brock Patterson on bass, and Micah Curtis on drums, and juniors Patrick Owen on trumpet and Joshua Blake on sax. The group performs jazz standard and improv numbers.

JazzMatazz specializes in classic Cajun-style dishes and also offers sandwiches, salads and desserts. There is no cover charge for Monday’s show.
